Disney Bourbon Trail

What Did You Expect the Disney Bourbon Trail to be?

The Disney Bourbon Trail will be open fromMay 1 through June 17.

We can all agree that Florida is known for a few things – Old People, Gators, Mosquitos, Beaches, Heat, The Florida Man, and Disney.
For anyone who hasn’t been, Disney is magical for children and hell for adults. Dreams become reality for the little ones as their stuffed animals and cartoons come to life. Mix that with a little adrenaline and a break from school and you have yourself a perfect day for a tot.  Adults are focused on other things during this trip – money, heat, tired and sweaty kids, whining, and long lines.

Is this real life? Can we be like kids again? Carelessly living for today?   Well, sort of.

When we heard about the Disney Bourbon Trail, our brains went to bourbon tastings and tours of bourbon artifacts shipped in from Kentucky.

In reality, it’s a list of restaurants that created food and bourbon cocktail pairings – A Bourbon Mojito and A cuban sandwich, a Kentucky Sunrise and a Skirt Steak (you get the idea). Don’t get me wrong, I love a good Old Fashioned and a Burger as much as the next guy, but I don’t need to go to Disney for that. If you’re local to Orlando and want to get out for a drink and a meal like any other weekend, head to Disney Springs and you’re bound to find what you’re looking for. If you’re let down about what the Disney Bourbon Trail actually is, don’t be upset – Disney sells the dream, not the dram. And if you’re wanting to experience the real Kentucky Bourbon Trail, book your flight to Kentucky instead of Orlando.

“Whether you’re a bourbon aficionado, or just enjoy sipping and savoring new drinks, this experience is perfect for an afternoon stroll or a night out with friends,” – Alex Dunlap

Though it’s not what we hoped it would be, we’re excited to see it happening. We love seeing the bourbon craze infiltrate other areas of our world.
